Pride Takes Clark State on the Road 73-39

Dayton, OH – Sinclair Men's basketball returned to action Saturday at Clark State with a 73-39 road victory to kick off a stretch of 5 games in 8 days.

In what has turned out to be an annual Post-Thanksgiving game between the two programs, Sinclair got off to a slow start as Clark State controlled the game. It took the Pride most of the first half to find some energy to match the pesky Eagles, but by the end of the first half the Pride held a 37-24 halftime lead.

Coming out after intermission, Sinclair took complete control of the game in the first 5 minutes with better energy on defense as they pushed the margin up to 25. Clark State continued to play with great energy in the second half as they would make mini runs at trying to cut into the 20+ point margin. The defensive intensity in the second half from the Pride was the story as Sinclair held Clark State to 26% shooting from the field and only 15 points.

Pacing the Pride with a game high 17 points was Sophomore Forward Jonathan Bibbs (6-4/Chaminade Julienne H.S.). Joining Jonathan in double figures JaBriel Coaston (6-5/Cincinnati – Roger Bacon H.S.) with 12 points and 6 rebounds, Trent Maddox (6-4/Gallatin Co. H.S. KY) 11 points and 6 rebounds and Charlie Byers (5-11/Cincinnati – Moeller H.S.) with 10 points and 5 rebounds.

Sinclair plays at home tonight (7 PM) as Urbana University JV Knights will tip off a 4 game/6 day stretch for the Pride that will end Saturday as Sinclair travels to Flint (MI) for a rematch with the #1 Ranked Mott CC.
