Students will identify the physical therapist assistant's role in upholding the American Physical Therapy Association's Guide for Conduct of the Physical Therapist Assistant and Standards of Ethical Conduct as they relate to cultural sensitivity, patient care, patient protection and reporting of unethical and illegal behaviors.
Students will understand the principles of various organizational planning activities, including billing, insurance, and quality assurance, and discuss the potential ramifications of legal and ethical breaches of these activities.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of American Physical Therapy Association’s Value-Based Behaviors for the Physical Therapist Assistant and self-assess their commitment to achieving those behaviors as a future physical therapist assistant professional in the clinic and in the community.
