  • Analyze the major forms of family violence: child abuse/neglect, spousal violence, elder abuse, and incest.

  • Evaluate the societal reaction to family violence over time.
  • Assess the community resources available for the victims of family violence.
  • Differentiate between theoretical perspectives which explain this form of behavior.
  • Appraise case studies of family violence to rate constructive responses to this phenomenon.
