5K Walk to Support Hunger Project

Date: Thursday, April 25, 2019
Time: 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Campus: Dayton
Location: Check in Outside Building 4

Cost is $15.00 per person.

REGISTER ONLINE: https://www.sinclair.edu/giving/5k-hunger-walk/.

All proceeds benefit the Lunchtime Hunger Project, sponsored by the Dietetics & Nutrition, and Social Work Clubs for the purpose of addressing food insecurity on the Sinclair campus. The goal is to help students meet their basic needs by providing a free, healthy lunch accompanied by educational resources on how to prepare and purchase tasty, nutritious, and affordable food on a budget.

Full program implementation was initiated fall 2016 and the number of students receiving the weekly service continues to climb. Each student club conducts fundraising activities to support the expenses of the project (food items and supplies). To date, over 6,870 lunches have been served. Helping to meet students’ basic needs enhances student success and furthers educational aspirations. It allows students to turn their dreams into achievable goals. The Lunchtime Hunger Project motivates student club members to help and serve others supporting the original vision of David Sinclair “Find the need and endeavor to meet it.”
