Counseling and Accessibility Services to Start Recovery (R2R) Group

Counseling and Accessibility Services is starting a Recovery Group (R2R) on Thursday, March 15 from 12 Noon-1:00 p.m. in Building 6, Room 6-142.

Students will meet every Thursday throughout spring semester. These meetings are designed to help students whose friends/family are affected by addiction or students addicted to alcohol or other substances.

Students will have opportunities to share their experiences in a safe, confidential environment. In addition they will interact with speakers and suggest relevant topics that they would like addressed in these sessions. They will find ongoing personal support, education and resources that offer hope in their recovery journey. And in the first meeting, a former SCC student will share her story to offer encouragement and a valuable perspective on recovery.

This group will be led by Brenda Smith MS, CDCA II and John Potter MA, LPC from Counseling and Accessibility Services.

If you have any questions about the group, please call 512-5113.
