Sinclair Community College Named Official U.S. Training Partner for Sky-Drones Technologies

Sinclair Community College has been named an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) training partner for Sky-Drones’ SkyLane 250 and 350 Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) models. Sky-Drones is a UK-based leader in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) avionics and AI-driven systems.

Following rigorous training in England, both in London and Northamptonshire, representatives from Sinclair’s National UAS Training and Certification Center, including Seth Schwartz, Associate Director for Applied Research and Development, and Bruno Reichstadter, Associate Director for Advanced Air Mobility Training, earned OEM endorsement to conduct instruction and issue training certificates for the Sky-Drones’ SkyLane 250 and SkyLane 350 UAS platforms. These aircraft are recognized for their exceptional long-range beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) capabilities, optimized for delivery service or long-distance inspections. Since completion of training, Sinclair has engaged with U.S.-based clients to schedule training and has started including the SkyLane 350 in upcoming flight demonstration and research project work.

“We are excited to add the SkyLane UAS to our fleet and count Sky-Drones as a new OEM training partner,” said Dr. Andrew Shepherd, Chief Research Officer at Sinclair. “The transitional vertical-takeoff-and-landing capabilities of the SkyLane allows for operations in constrained environments while the fixed-wing flight profile during cruise enables long duration flights. It is evident that Sky-Drones has developed a world-class and highly capable system with utility in many applications of interest to academic, industry, and government users.”

The partnership establishes Sinclair’s National UAS Training and Certification Center as a hub for Sky-Drones’ U.S. training operations, leveraging the college’s proven flight training capabilities and UAS industry achievements. This expands on Sinclair’s existing industry authorized training agreements with leading companies in the U.S., Europe, and Israel.

Sky-Drones’ SkyLane series aircraft are equipped with the most advanced AIRLink flight controller, enabling AI-powered features, real-time video, and telemetry streaming, cloud-based mission planning with 3D maps, and advanced flight log analytics.

“This partnership allows us to further strengthen our position as a leading unmanned systems supplier for U.S. customers,” said Kirill Shilov, CEO at Sky-Drones. “Sinclair College, with its state-of-the-art facilities and extensive expertise in UAS education, will now provide tailored training programs on Sky-Drones’ advanced UAV platforms. This collaboration ensures that both Sinclair’s students and our U.S.-based clients gain access to cutting-edge training on advanced systems, while Sky-Drones streamlines its training operations across the region, delivering unparalleled value to the U.S. operators nationwide.”

Sky-Drones’ versatile UAVs have been deployed globally, including by UK, U.S., and other defense contractors, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), UK Police forces, and various other government entities. Now, U.S.-based operators can experience SkyLane aircraft firsthand through Sinclair’s tailored training programs and demonstrations at its state-of-the-art facilities in Dayton, Ohio or other locations nationally. With a range of up to 18 miles for training purposes at approved locations, participants can learn to operate the SkyLane UAS effectively in real-world scenarios.
