The Digital Engineering for Aerospace One-Year Technical Certificate introduces the concept and importance of digital engineering for the aerospace industry. Digital engineering related benefits, challenges, tools, and best practices relevant to aerospace applications are explored.

Program Outcomes

  • Apply digital engineering tools and technologies in aerospace related design, manufacturing, and maintenance use cases.
  • Describe the integration, applications, and benefits of digital engineering and digital thread concepts in aerospace including focuses of design, manufacturing, logistics, data management, and cyber security.
  • Identify the role of digital engineering, digital thread, and digital twin challenges and best practices in various aerospace use cases.

Career Opportunities

The application of digital engineering knowledge and best practices, complimented by technical knowledge, requires Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), and broader aerospace industry focuses that are driven by rapid advances in technology and regulation. Program Accreditation Information

The Digital Engineering for Aerospace One-Year Technical Certificate will be incorporated into the proposed Advanced Air Mobility Lifecycle Management Associate of Applied Science Degree. Additionally, the courses may be applied as electives in the Sinclair Unmanned Aerial Systems Bachelor of Applied Science (UAS.S.BAS) degree. Additionally, opportunities will be explored for inclusion in other current or potential Sinclair AAS and BAS degree programs, as well as external institution degrees in areas of focus including aviation, unmanned aerial systems, and advanced air mobility.

Efforts will also be made to add this course to existing external articulation agreements from the Aviation Technology programs.
