What is the program about?

The Automotive Electric Vehicle Service Technician credential prepares automotive technicians to upskill, service, diagnose, and repair electric vehicles. It also prepares technicians for their Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) L3 Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Specialist exam.

Program Outcomes

  • Students will perform service and repair of electric vehicle systems as it relates to charging, batteries, drive units, thermal management and other associated systems.
  • Students will understand service precautions relating to disabling a high voltage system
  • Students will be able to perform diagnostic steps utilizing industry-specific tools to repair electric vehicles.

Career Opportunities

Students earning this credential will be prepared to work for independent repair facilities and dealerships that service and repair electric vehicles.
