What is the program about?
This one-year certificate introduces students to the basics of video production, including lighting and cinematography, motion design, and audio production. Students will learn the design process, appropriate applications and video and audio equipment to create quality videos.
Program Outcomes
- Develop professional quality digital video, audio and motion graphics using computer-based design applications and tools.
- Develop video with an understanding of the design process, including the principles and elements of design.
- Demonstrate the use of hardware, including video and audio recording equipment.
- Discuss the history, fundamentals and basic theories of video production.
Career Opportunities
There are several positions to fill in the digital video production profession. You could work in television, advertising, or news reporting. You also could apply your skills in education, government, or business industries. Within these settings, you could hold entry-level positions in a variety of positions, such as a video editor, camera operator, audio editor, live stream operator, or motion graphics. As well, there are freelance opportunities.
Transferability
This courses could transfer to those schools we have articulation agreements: Columbus College of Art and Design, Wright State University (Lake Campus), Franklin University, and Art Academy of Cincinnati.
