Placement Testing Support

Do you need to refresh your math or writing skills for the placement test?

Visit the front desk of the Tutoring and Learning Center located in the lower level of the library in Building 7, Room 07L07.

The Tutoring and Learning Center provides writing skill development through sample essay prompts. Once you complete the prompt, you will have the opportunity to meet with one of our tutors to review your writing and receive resources that will guide you to be more prepared for the WritePlacer.

Hours for Support:
Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Once these steps have been completed, students who need to retake the WritePlacer will be given a retake voucher (value $15) by the Tutoring and Learning Center front desk staff.

ALEKS Prep and Learning modules are designed specifically for students based on their initial ALEKS math assessment. To save time, it is recommended that you take the Sinclair ALEKS assessment first, and then use the Prep and Learning Modules specifically designed for your math needs.

Hours for Support:
Monday & Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Tuesday & Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

To prepare for the TEAS test, the Tutoring and Learning Center can provide a digital copy of the Health Sciences Study Guide. While you are completing the study guide you may visit one of our walk-in labs for support in a specific area. The Writing Lab, Math Lab, and the BIOSIS Lab  have copies of the study guide and tutors that can work with you.

In addition to the study guide, the Tutoring and Learning Center has an online resource available via eLearn. Students will have access to an online simulated exam.

To request access to the eLearn shell or to request a copy of the study guide, email us at from your my.sinclair email account.

The Tutoring and Learning Center does not provide support for GED prep or testing. For more information about GED classes or GED testing please contact Project READ at 937-512-4570 in Building 3, Room 142.
