An in-person viewing of the 2020 American docudrama, directed by Jeff Orlowski-Yang. This film explores the dangerous human impact of social networking, with tech experts sounding the alarm on their own creations; and examines how social media’s design nurtures addiction to maximize profit and its ability to manipulate people’s views, emotions, and behavior and spread conspiracy theories and disinformation; and social media’s effect on mental health, in particular, the mental health of adolescents and rising teen suicide rates.

Discussion immediately following the screening, facilitated by Chief Diversity Officer, Michael Carter, Sinclair College.

This event will be held in Sinclair’s Conference Center, Building 12 and a meeting invite with location will be sent upon registration confirmation.
