Book Drive to Help Children READ ON This Summer

Together with organizations READ ON! and Project READ, Sinclair is sponsoring the 4th Annual  Summer Read On Challenge.  New or gently used books are being collected for distribution to over 2,500 children (grades K-3) in Montgomery County so that they each have 10 books.  Sinclair's goal is to collect 500!

Donations will be accepted March 27-April 15 at the following locations:

-Regional Centers

-Dayton Campus

   Building 7, outside of the bookstore

   Building 9, outside the Early Childhood Education Center

   Building 10, outside of Room 10332 (Student Affairs)

   Building 13, first floor lobby

   Library Loggia near the Academic Resource Center

   Library, Lower Level near front desk *approved by Doug Kaylor

  Walkways between Buildings 3 & 4 and 12 & 14

-Fast Forward Center (The Job Center)

 

Research has shown that students living in economically poor neighborhoods lose approximately 2 months in reading achievement every summer. Lack of books in the home is strongly related to summer learning loss, and having books available can help children maintain their skills going into the new school year.
