Provost Dave Collins announced Friday, June 2 that Elizabeth Orlando has been selected as the next Dean of the Business and Public Services (BPS) Division.
Elizabeth began her career at Sinclair in 2008, serving as an adjunct faculty member in Criminal Justice Science (CJS). Since that time she has served as an Assistant Professor in Paralegal, Law, & Real Estate, Acting Chair of Paralegal, Law, & Real Estate, Acting Dayton Correctional Institution (DCI) Coordinator, Criminal Justice Program Director, Assistant Dean of Business and Public Services, and Interim Dean of Business and Public Services.
Elizabeth joined Sinclair following an eight-year legal career. Her work history included Clermont County Prosecutor's Office, Court of Appeals of Ohio (12th Appellate District), and Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office. As an assistant prosecuting attorney in Montgomery County, Elizabeth conducted felony trials, argued motion hearings, negotiated plea agreements and authored legal briefs. Admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2003, she is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Dayton Bar Association.
Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, a Master of Education from Xavier University and a Juris Doctor from Tulane Law School. She has been awarded the SOCHE Faculty Excellence Award, the Sinclair Service Learning Award, and was selected to participate in Women’s Institute of Leadership Development.
