Goldman Sachs Foundation Partners with Sinclair for National Training Program

Announcing Expansion of the 10,000 Small Businesses Initiative in Dayton, Ohio

Training to provide entrepreneurs and small businesses access to business education and services

 

DAYTON, OH – The Goldman Sachs Foundation, an American multinational investment bank and financial services company, will partner with Sinclair Community College to launch the expansion of the 10,000 small businesses initiative in Dayton, Ohio. The new statewide initiative is aimed at helping entrepreneurs and small businesses create job opportunities and growth by providing access to business education, capital and support services.

“Entrepreneurs and small businesses are a critical part of our region’s economy and we are extremely honored to partner with Goldman Sachs Foundation to launch this national initiative in the Dayton area,” said Steve Johnson, President of Sinclair College. “This program will create a pipeline of well-trained, highly skilled business leaders and entrepreneurs who are vital to increasing the economic impact and growth of our region. Encouraging and supporting student entrepreneurs is an identified strategic priority that the college leadership is committed to and we are excited about the potential of this partnership.”

Sinclair College offers an Associate’s Degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship, a certificate in Entrepreneurship as well as short-term certificate programs for students enrolled in Sinclair’s Prison Education Program.

The college is also currently working on co-locating Sinclair’s entrepreneur programs in the new Innovation Hub that is being developed by the University of Dayton and TEC-Dayton at the Dayton Arcade. The space will provide Sinclair students and faculty access to a number of support services and entrepreneurial enrichment opportunities that will enhance what Sinclair already offers.
