Seven Players Named to OCCAC All-Conference Basketball Teams

Coming off a very successful season, the Men's Basketball team continues to be recognized.  After finishing 21-9 and qualifying for the NJCAA District XII tournament where they had a bye and automatic spot in the quarterfinals.  Sinclair fell to #10 nationally ranked Owens in the quarterfinals, 104-90.  Four members were named to OCCAC All-Conference teams this week.

Richard Weaver (6-5/SO – Meadowdale H.S., Dayton, OH) was named to the First Team All-OCCAC team.  Weaver averaged 16.9 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game during OCCAC play.  Richard only played one year at Sinclair as he transferred to Sinclair from Miami-Middletown.  During the Fall signing period, he signed with NCAA Division II Northwood University in Michigan.

Trace Cureton (6-4/SO – Cathedral H.S., Indianapolis, IN) was named to the Second Team All-OCCAC team.  Cureton averaged 15.8 points per game in the OCCAC play and 5.5 rebounds per game.  Trace's played in a total of 60 games for Sinclair and finished his career with 743 points.

Westley Parr (6-7/FR – Benedictine H.S., Cleveland, OH) was one of two Sinclair Freshman named Honorable Mention All-OCCAC.  Parr averaged 12.2 points per game and 5.2 rebounds in conference play.  Wes was 1st in conference play shooting 62.0% from the field and 13th in the nation with 64.4% overall.

Charles Sweatt-Washington (6-6/FR – Lafayette H.S., Lexington, KY) was also named Honorable Mention All-OCCAC as well.  He averaged 9.4 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game.

After coming off a brand new season under interim head coach Marcus Stewart the women’s basketball team broke even in conference play 6-6 with three players being named to the All-Conference teams this week.

O’Sha Owens (5-4/FR – Elida H.S.,Elida, OH) was named to the First Team All-OCCAC team.  She averaged 17.7 points per game in conference play and shot 71.6 percent from the free throw line.  Owens also averaged 5.5 rebounds per game as well as snagged 3.0 steals and 2.7 assists per game.

Ashley Morrow (5-6/SO – Springboro H.S., Springboro, OH) was named Honorable Mention All-OCCAC.  She averaged 11.2 points per game in conference play and shot 63.3 percent from the free throw line.  Morrow also averaged 6.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.1 steals per game.

Jenae Curtiss (5-9/FR – Thurgood Marshall H.S., Dayton, OH) was named Honorable Mention All-OCCAC.  She averaged 11.4 points per game in league play, while averaging 7.9 rebounds per game.  Curtiss was 2nd in the conference in defensive rebounds with 74.
