Sinclair Baseball Players Named OCCAC Player and Pitcher of the Week

Sinclair Baseball receives more honors

Dayton, OH – Sinclair Baseball continues to swept the weekly Baseball honors this week as two Pride players were named "Player of the Week" and Pitcher of the Week".

Freshman Catcher, Andrew Holderman (FR/Eaton H.S.) was named player of the Week in the OCCAC for the week of April 21st.  Andrew went 5-for-7 with one double and 3 RBI's and also scored twice.  Holderman is hitting .361 this year (22-for-61) with 15 runs, four doubles, two triples, 10 walks and 11 RBIs.  This is the 5th consecutive week a Sinclair player has been named Player of the Week.  Holderman follows his teammate Taylor Huebner (SO/Piqua H.S.) as he also earned Player of the Week honors for the week of April 14th.

For the 2nd consecutive week, a Sinclair pitcher was named Player of the Week.  Sophomore Starting Pitcher Carlos Pena (SO/Columbus West H.S.) was named OCCAC pitcher of the week for the week of April 21st. He tossed a seven inning complete game victory against Owens while allowing only four hits and striking 6Pena is currently 7-1 this year with a 1.75 ERA. In 46.1 innings, he has struck out 39 batters.  For the week of April 14th, Patrick Boyle (SO/Valley View H.S.) also earned Pitcher of the Week.

Sinclair is currently 32-9 overall and in 1st place in OCCAC with a 14-2 record.  The 5-1 win Wednesday night extends the Pride winning streak to 8 in a row and 16 out of their last 17 games.  Coach Dintaman has his team ranked 5th in the latest NJCAA Division II Baseball Poll.
