Sinclair Begins Fall Term With Highest Number of High School Students Ever

Sinclair Community College began its fall session August 18, and this term will see the college experience records in the number of high school students earning college credit and in the number of students seeking their associate degree. The college has made strategic investments in expanding partnerships with local school districts and is a national leader in student completion with the Completion by Design and Connect for Completion projects. 

 "As we welcome our students back this fall, I am extremely pleased that our efforts to both get students to start and complete college faster are paying off more than ever before," Sinclair College President Steve Johnson said. "The investment that these students are making in themselves will pay off for their lives, careers, and families and will also help the economy of the Dayton Region."

For the fall of 2014, Sinclair is experiencing:

  • The highest ever enrollment of international students at 192
  • The highest ever enrollment of high school students taking college courses at over 2,000.
  • The largest number of Hispanic/Latino students for a fall term ever at 504.

Additionally, Sinclair is on pace to have more degree seeking students than ever before at approximately 12,700 students. 

Sinclair is recognized as a local and national leader in delivering high-quality and affordable higher education. One of the oldest and best known community colleges in the nation, Sinclair is a board member of the prestigious League for Innovation in the Community College. Sinclair offers approximately 200 accredited degrees and certificates and offers Montgomery County students the lowest tuition rates in all of Ohio.
