Sinclair Cares Team is fighting suicide! Come walk with us and bring awareness and support to our Sinclair and Dayton communities.
Sinclair College’s Counseling Services has been partnering with Save Us Dayton, a community group whose goal is to provide suicide awareness and prevention information to the community, for almost two years.
We have done various presentations, had a balloon launch, and shown documentaries with Q & A sessions.
On average, more than a 1,000 college students complete suicide every year.
We want to support this important cause and are inviting you to be a part of the Out of the Darkness Walk, which will be held on Oct. 22 at 1 PM at Oakwood High School. There is a 1-mile option and a 3-mile option.
If you are interested in joining the cause, follow the link below, hit Register, create an account, and then search for and join the Sinclair Cares Team. Our hope is that we have a strong presence at the walk and can raise funds to help the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for college students. As you know, this information and awareness could be critical for our students.
