Sinclair College Continues Helping Students Succeed With Additional $8.5 Million in Emergency Relief Funding for Spring Term

Sinclair Community College is continuing its efforts to support student success with an additional $8.5 million in emergency relief funding for Spring Term.  Sinclair is using its third round of the federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) Student Share Grant Funds to assist students. Eligible expenses include food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child-care.

“Sinclair College remains committed to providing the resources our students need to achieve their education and career goals,” said Dr. Scott Markland, Senior Vice President for Student Development – Sinclair Community College. “Many of our students continue to face financial challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Sinclair’s expanded financial aid efforts are designed keep students on a path to success.”

Since March of 2020, Sinclair has provided more than $16.5 million in HEERF funding to approximately 15,000 students to help cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  In addition, Sinclair has distributed over 1,000 laptops and other equipment to assist students.

Other expanded student services at Sinclair College include:

• Free, confidential 24/7 counseling services, a full-time social worker, and a free mental health app.

• On-campus student food pantry, expanded childcare, mobile grocery, mobile health clinic, financial counseling, legal assistance, and medical advocacy services.

Sinclair College 2022 Spring Term Schedule:

• Full Term:  January 10 – May 8

• A Term:  January 10 – March 6

• 12-Week Term:  February 7 – May 8

• B Term:  March 14 – May 8

Through January 18, 2022, Sinclair’s Welcome Center operating hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Students can apply online at sinclair.edu or contact the Sinclair Admissions Office at 937-512-3675.
