Sinclair Community College President Dr. Steven Johnson will be the keynote speaker at the Brunner Literacy Center’s 10th Anniversary Celebration on March 5, 2022. The event is being held at the Dayton Metro Library beginning at 6:45 p.m.
“It is a tremendous honor to be a part of celebrating the incredible achievements of the Brunner Literacy Center and its positive impact on the lives of thousands of adults in the Dayton region over the past decade,” said Dr. Johnson. “Sinclair College has a shared belief that education is life-changing, and I applaud the Brunner Literacy Center and its dedicated staff and volunteers who provide programs that lead to a better quality of life and career opportunities for the adults they serve.”
The Brunner Literacy Center provides one-on-one learning opportunities for adult students. Programs include Adult Basic Education that focuses on reading and math, GED® Preparation, Continuing Education that prepares students for college entry or professional licensures and certifications, and English for Speakers of Other Languages.
The Brunner Literacy Center was founded in 2011 by two Sisters of the Precious Blood, Sr. Maryann Bremke and Sr. Helen Weber. To date, the Brunner Literacy Center has served more than 2,000 adults in the greater Dayton area.
