Sinclair College Recognized by Newsweek as One of America's Best Online Learning Schools of 2022

Sinclair Community College has been recognized as one of America’s Best Online Learning Schools of 2022 by Newsweek. Sinclair ranked 104 out of 150 colleges and universities in the nation that offer online degree programs, including hybrid programs with online and offline courses or exams.

Newsweek and Statista selected America’s Best Online Learning Schools based on an online survey among United States residents who have used online learning services to obtain an academic degree or to further their professional or personal development.

“This designation is especially meaningful because it reflects the positive experiences of students who have benefitted from the innovative work of Sinclair’s eLearning Division,” said Dr. Christina Amato, Dean – Sinclair College eLearning Division.

Sinclair’s eLearning Division supports faculty and staff in the design of dynamic, accessible, and digitally inclusive eLearning courses and programs. This work enables Sinclair students to achieve their educational goals, attain credentials, enter the workforce, or transfer to a four-year institution.  Sinclair’s eLearning Division is the recipient of numerous awards, including Ohio's Best Online Community College Programs by Premium Schools in 2021, the Innovation of the Year through the League for Innovation, Bellwether, AECT HERO Award, and ITC’s Excellence in eLearning Awards.

Sinclair College currently offers 61 fully online programs. Over 300 Sinclair courses are offered completely online including most general education courses and many core specialized program courses in Business and Computer Information Systems, Health Information Management, Health Sciences, Computer Information Systems, Criminal Justice Science, Management, and more. Students have the option to complete part of any of Sinclair’s more than 300 associate degrees or certificates online.

Between July 26 and September 13, 2021, Statista surveyed over 9,000 individuals. The Newsweek survey respondents indicated which institutions they used to obtain an online degree or where they attended an online course and were asked to rate their experiences with the institutions based on several criteria. For the final step, respondents indicated how satisfied they were with the institution and the likelihood that they would recommend it to other people.
