Sinclair Men's Basketball Signs 6-4 Forward

Sinclair Basketball Coach Jeff Price announced July 15, 2015 that the Sinclair Men's Basketball program has signed Caleb Walker, a 6-4 forward out of Gahanna Christian Academy to a 2014-15 National Letter of Intent.

Walker was a 2 year starter and a 4 year letter winner for Gahanna Christian Academy in Columbus (Ohio).  He averaged a double-double his junior year with 12 points per game and 10 rebounds per game.  He also earned 2nd team All-League and Honorable Mention All-District.

Caleb followed up a successful junior year with an equally successful senior campaign.  Once again scoring double figures with 15 points per game and 9 rebounds per contest.  He was named MVP for the Mid-Ohio Christian Athletic League (MOCAL) and 2nd team All-District in addition to being named Honorable Mention All-State.  Leading his team to an 18-6 record, he received the Captains Award and the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award.  Caleb finished his high school career with a 20 point performance in the OHSAA state tournament as Gahanna Christian lost to Newark Catholic 38-46

Caleb will step into a vacancy left by the loss of two 16 point scorers from last season.  Trace Cureton averaged 16.5 points per game on 51% shooting from the field and 48% from behind the 3pt arc, Trace signed NCAA Division I Utah State.  Trace's teammate Richard Weaver averaged 16.3 points per game on 59% shooting, Richard signed with NCAA Division II Northwood University in Michigan.

Sinclair finished the season 21-9 and in 3rd place in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC).  They spent 11 weeks being ranked in the Top 20 of the NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball National Polls and reaching as high as 4th for three consecutive weeks.  Their season came to an end when they lost to #10 nationally Ranked Owens CC in the NJCAA Regional Semi-Finals.  Sinclair returns one All-Conference performer off last year's squad, 6-7 Westley Parr from Cleveland Benedictine H.S.
