Volleyball Player Jessica Thobe Named First Team All-American

Sinclair stand-out sophomore Jessica Thobe was named an All-American again for her sophomore season.  After a successful season where Sinclair went 34-6 overall and 10-2 in conference play, Thobe's individual play was even more stellar.  She was named to the First Team All-OCCAC as well as the OCCAC Player of the Year in 2013, both honors that she was awarded in the 2012 season as well.  Thobe was named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending September 8, 2013.

In 2012 Thobe led the nation in kills with 4.72 per set as well as being one of the leaders for kills with a total of 538 on the season.  In 2013, she finished at the top of many individual leader categories for NJCAA Division II.  Thobe was third in the nation in hitting percentage (.423) as well as third in kills with 590.  She finished fourth in kills per set (4.61).

Jessica had a career high 31 kills this season against Columbus State where Sinclair dropped the match 3-2.  She also had a career high 38 digs against Jackson College in the Regional Tournament.  Thobe lead the team in kills with 590 and kills per set (4.61).  She was also second on the team in digs with 667 on the season.

The regular season was very successful for Sinclair with many firsts for the team.  It was the first time Sinclair had been the #1 seed in the Regional Tournament in school history.  Sinclair beat Vincennes University for the first time in school history.  Sinclair had its first preseason rank of 16 in NJCAA Division II, and first time the team has been ranked 22nd or 23rd in NJCAA throughout the season.  Sinclair finished fifth in the nation in kills per set (12.92) as well as fifth in digs per set (21.22).  Sinclair was also sixth in assists per set (11.70).  The 2x All-American Jessica Thobe helped lead Sinclair to a successful 2013 season.
