Are you a registered radiographer looking for an advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT)? If so, this short-term certificate is for you! This one-semester short-term certificate includes on-line didactic classes and clinical education. Radiographers who complete the certificate will be eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification exam in Computed Tomography.
This short-term certificate in Computed Tomography (CT) is designed to provide radiographers certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with didactic and clinical education in computed tomography. Didactic courses focus on CT principles while clinical courses provide students with real-life experience and development of hands-on skills needed to pursue employment in computed tomography.
Completion of this short-term certificate program can lead to employment in comprehensive hospitals, suburban or rural outpatient centers, surgery centers, etc. as a Computed Tomography Technologist.
Graduates of this short-term certificate program will be eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) computed tomography certification examination. Successful completion of the ARRT certification exam is a requirement for employment in computed tomography in most institutions. Applicants for the ARRT are required to comply with state and federal laws. A pre-application may be made to ARRT in order to obtain a ruling regarding eligibility for the exam. Students with specific questions about legal and/or ethical issues are encouraged to contact the ARRT directly or review the ethics section of their website at www.arrt.org. Licensure is also required in Ohio for those working in computed tomography.
