What is the program about?

The Mechanical Software Technician short term certificate introduces students to the field of mechanical engineering including using the latest versions of computer-aided drafting software. All courses are part of the Mechanical Engineering Technology associate degree.

Program Outcomes

  • Function effectively as part of a design team.
  • Design in detail individual parts and components from functional sketches provided by an engineer and model them using a three-dimensional geometric modeler.
  • Communicate effectively, orally, in writing and graphically, on an interdisciplinary team as a design technician using appropriate software tools.

Professionals with software skills are in demand by mechanical design firms.
