This program is designed to introduce the student to working within the agricultural field and will provide a baseline of business, communication, and animal handling knowledge.
Holders of this certificate will be better able to obtain employment, or increase their status as a Farm Worker, Farm Manager, Feed Store Worker, Farm Bureau Representative, or Farm Banking Assistant.
Students within Tech Prep Affiliated Environmental Science, Agricultural Science, Equine Science, and Veterinary Science programs, who successfully complete their high school program will be awarded a credit for VET 1100. This short term certificate feeds a long term certificate course of study as well as a pending agricultural AAS degree. Additionally, most of the courses within this certificate are OTM credit courses that will transfer to other institutions. VET 1120 mirrors a course at the University of Findlay, and may also be considered a transferable course at that institution.
