Sinclair Student Government (SSG) is a student advocacy group that serves as the voice of the Sinclair student body. Student members, who serve on the SSG, represent and then advocate for changes on campus and solutions to concerns and/or challenges that are brought to their attention by peers. These selected student leaders will serve as the representatives of the student voice to enhance the quality of education and further the mission of the college. The SSG recognizes that it does not make decisions for the college, but merely, students, faculty, and staff are engaged in campus life activities through college wide service initiatives and events.
The structure of the Sinclair Student Government is comprised of student representatives (Leadership Council) and a three-member student Executive Board. Sinclair’s Student Government is designed to be representative of all programs across the college, ensuring that the diverse voices and needs of all students are heard and addressed. The Executive Board is made up of the President, who leads the SSG and represents the entire student body; the Vice President, who assists the President and oversees the meetings in the President’s absence; and the Secretary/Treasurer, who manages the records, takes the meeting minutes, distributes those minutes, and oversees the budget.
The Leadership Council members are selected through the Sinclair Student Government application and selection process. All members of Sinclair Student Government must enroll in at least 3 credit hours each term of service, have and maintain cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, and be in good academic standing including having no administrative holds on their account or current violations of the student code of conduct.
