Spotlight on Clubs! -  Be sure to visit the Sinclair College Student Clubs & Organizations Hub (SCSCOH) on eLearn to find out which clubs are spotlighted during the month. If you are not yet enrolled in the SCSCOH, simply go to your My.Sinclair page, click on the eLearn module, click on DISCOVER, type "clubs" in the search bar, select the SCSCOH and enroll. Wellness Wall - The JED Social Connectedness Committee would like to invite you to check out the Wellness Wall located on the glass panels inside Tartan Marketplace. Each month will have a new theme and a variety of great information to help you navigate the various challenges associated with being a college student and life in general.


JAN 23rd -  Sinclair Talks: Mindful Minutes-Turning Stress into Success - (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM), NW Loggia, Library, Dayton Campus. Are you struggling to balance all the demands in life, while also taking care of YOU? If so, this workshop is for you! Join us as we discuss ways to master your time and learn strategies to promote self-care and reduce stress!


JAN 23rd -  Tartan Threads Open House - (12:00 PM - 2:00 PM), Bldg 8-025, Dayton Campus. Join us for the Grand Opening of Tartan Threads, an exciting new initiative designed to support students by providing them with business professional clothing for interviews, internships, and the first day on the job. Come check it out!


JAN 27th -  Game Room Rumble - (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM), Bldg 8, Game Room, Dayton Campus. Up for a little friendly competition and just plain FUN!? Play air hockey, foosball, ping pong, arcade games, video games, board games & card games. Who will win? Students vs. Student Affairs staff members. Come hang out and destress with us!


JAN 28th - Sinclair Talks: Resume 101 for Internships - Skills Based Resume - (10:00 AM - 11:00 AM), Online Only, ZOOM. The Office of Work-Based Learning will provide this 1-hour presentation on skills-based resumes and their importance to the internship search process. JAN 28th - Crafting with Queers - (11:00 AM - 1:30 PM), L21 Library. Come chill with LGBTQ+ folks and allies by creating some crafts! Supplies for friendship bracelets, rock painting, coloring, and beading provided. Bring your own crafts to work on too!


JAN 29th - Sinclair Talks: Do You Speak Fluent College? - (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM), Online only, ZOOM. College has a lot of words and ideas that can seem like a foreign language--FAFSA, Bursar, SAP Appeal, for example. Join us for a discussion on "college words" that might be new to you. Bring your examples of words or processes that were new or unexpected. JAN 30th - Poppin' Bingo! - (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM), NW Loggia, Library. Stop by NW Loggia Library, grab a bag of popcorn, and play bingo. Play as many rounds of bingo as you like! Chance to win fun prizes.

The season is still quite harsh, and it makes it hard for birds to find enough food and nutrients. Stop by and make your own bag of bird seed to take. Go outside and feed the birds. Be sure to pick out a sticker of your choice before you go! Post pictures of feeding the birds on Instagram or Facebook and use #SinclairFeedtheBirds

FEB 4th - Superbowl Pre-Game Warm Up! - (11:00 AM - 12:30 PM), Tartan Marketplace. Join Us in Tartan Marketplace and test your football skills with fun inflatable and netted targets. Grab a football inspired freebie! Vote on who you think Piper the Puppy will choose as the Superbowl Champions this season. Afterwards, walk over to the NW Loggia to learn more about the NFL at 1 PM!


FEB 4th - Sinclair Talks: The NFL-Coaching, Management, Ownership and the Limited Opportunities Available - (1:00 PM - 1:50 PM), NW Loggia, Library or ZOOM. IT'S SUPERBOWL WEEK! #Join Us and leave with a new understanding of the NFL and how it can be improved. In this presentation we will discuss the Rooney Rule, how it came to be, and why diversity and inclusion at the highest levels of football still has a ways to go. FEB 11th - Sinclair Service Experience-Make a Difference on the Go! - (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM), NW Loggia, Library. #Join Us in the library as we put together items for a community in need! Even if you only have 5 minutes, you can still make a difference! Stay a few minutes or volunteer a while.  We look forward to doing something positive and meaningful together!

Click on the link to the Movie Questionnaire and complete it for a chance to win a Valentine Week Prize Pack!


FEB 17th - Sinclair Random Acts of Kindness Day - (All Day), Across All Sinclair Campuses. Say or do something nice for someone else today & you may also receive a kindness in return.


FEB 17-20th - Recreational Sports & Fitness Week - (varies), Join Us either Wednesday, February 19th or Thursday, February 20th for an Open House - Free One Day Membership Pass. Present your Tartan ID card at the Dayton Campus, Building 8, Basement level, room 017, to receive your FREE membership pass for the day. Choose to attend either Open Recreation Hours or one of our designated classes (refer to the PAC Activity Class Pass for a list of available classes). FEB 18th - Sinclair Talks: Navigating the SCSCOH & Let's Talk about Student Clubs & Organizations over Popcorn! - (11:45 AM - 12:15 PM), Bldg 10, Stadium Stairs. Drop in and learn about the Sinclair College Student Clubs & Organizations Hub (SCSCOH), explore club interests, and be one step closer to being connected on campus. Free Popcorn!


FEB 20th - National Love Your Pet Photo Submission - (8:00 AM - 11:59 PM), SCSCOH. Log into the Sinclair College Student Clubs and Organizations Hub (SCSCOH) on eLearn to access the photo submission link available on Feb 20th. Upload a favorite photo of your pet. One submission per applicant. Student will be able to vote on their choice photo from Feb 21-24. Winner will be announced on Feb 25. Students are eligible for a chance to win Sinclair Swag and prizes. Let's show our pets some photo love!


FEB 20th - Paw-fee with a Cop - (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM), NE Loggia, Library. Stop by the NE Loggia Library and have a FREE cup of coffee with Sinclair Police and play with and pet "Piper", the newest member of their team. Piper is a sweet and playful golden lab puppy and our new community support dog in training. He truly is the cutest little guy!


FEB 20th - Sinclair Talks: Budgets & Taxes! - (1:00 PM - 2:00 PM), NW Loggia, Library or ZOOM. At 1 p.m. join us as the Wright Patt Credit Union provides a demo presentation on Creating an Instant Budget. MAR 4th - Spring Mixer: Student Club & Organization Fair - (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM), NW Loggia, Library. Meet members of student clubs and organizations. Learn how you can get involved. Play games. Enjoy the popcorn bar! Have Fun! Campus Police will also have a table and photo backdrop set up where you can take photos with Piper, our new community support dog in training. Piper is a sweet and playful golden lab puppy. You don't want to miss the opportunity to stop by and say hello.


MAR 6th - Sinclair Talks: Candles, Crosses, and Coverings - The FAQs of Faith - Lunch and Learn *FREE LUNCH PROVIDED*, (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM), NW Loggia, Library. You don't want to miss this opportunity for a FREE MEAL and a fantastic learning experience! Do you ever wonder about the beliefs and practices of people from religious backgrounds that differ from your own? Join Multifaith Campus Chaplain Paul Strozier for an introductory overview of major world religions. Together, we will discover that we share much more in common than you may have previously thought as we explore core beliefs and how they shape real life for real people. This Sinclair Talk will help you cultivate empathy, understanding, and compassion for people who may look or act differently than you - knowledge you can use to enrich your own life, relationships, and impact. APR 3rd - Sinclair Talks: Your Passport to Landing an Internship - (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM), L21, Library. Are you interested in learning the secrets to networking your way into an internship? Don't miss this fun and educational opportunity to grab a passport and learn tips and secrets to grow your networking skills and knowledge. As you engage with different HR employers from companies in the region and Sinclair staff, you will also earn delicious toppings for your popcorn via the Popcorn Bar Passport experience!

APR 9th - Sinclair College's 24th Annual Career Fair - (12:00 PM - 3:00 PM), Building 12, Great Hall. The Student and Community Engagement office is hosting a career fair designed for students and alumni to connect with employers offering full and part-time, seasonal, and temporary positions as well as internships and apprenticeships. Nearly 100 employers from industries across the area are hiring and ready to speak with job seekers about the opportunities available at their companies.


APR 10th - Sinclair Talks: Therapy Dogs! - (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM), Bldg 10, Stadium Stairs. This presentation is an introduction to the use of therapy dogs for the support of our community. Currently, therapy dogs are used to support Fire, EMS, Police personnel, and medical facility staff. Therapy dogs are beginning to be utilized for students in educational facilities as well. We'll also discuss the different types of support dogs, including the difference between emotional support and therapy dogs. Also, be sure to say hello to therapy dog, Charlee. She is a very sweet and loving chocolate lab who will be present during this event to engage with members of the audience.


Spring Fling Week! - Join Us for a week full of fun events! See below.

APR 14th - Sinclair's Alumni Services present "Newport Aquarium Penguin Encounter @ Sinclair!" - (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM), Bldg 8 Gymnasium. RSVP Only. The first 125 to RSVP will have an opportunity to learn about penguins and encounter one of their penguin ambassadors. You don't want to miss this unique experience! If you are not able to attend on this date, we will have another opportunity on April 17th. *Participants will only be allowed to RSVP for one of the dates to allow for others to have the opportunity as well. RSVP HERE!

APR 14-19th - Free Movie Streaming on Us! - (Anytime), Unlimited Streaming, link to movies will be located on the SCSCOH during Spring Fling Week.

APR 15th - Hidden Egg Find - (8:00 AM until found); explore the nooks and crannies of Buildings 7, 8 & 10 and find as many hidden eggs as you can. One of the eggs will be a prize egg with a QR Code inside. Happy Searching!

APR 15th - Rainbow Roll - (11:00 AM - 2:00 PM), Building 8, Game Room. Join Sinclair's LGBTQ+ Support Liaison for an awesome Rainbow Roll hangout session! Dive into fun activities like board games, Wii games, air hockey, or simply chill out. Roll into the rainbow and let the fun begin with Lex - Where every moment is a colorful adventure!

APR 16th - Sinclair Service Experience-Make a Difference on the Go! - (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM), NW Loggia, Library. Stop by, even if you only have 5 minutes! Your help in putting together cooling and hydration packs for local, at-risk individuals will make a difference!

APR 23rd - National Tai Chi Day - (1:00 PM - 1:55 PM), Centerville Campus. Join Us for a free class at the Centerville Campus.


APR 30th - Lavender Graduation & Shindig - (5:00 PM - 7:00 PM), Bldg 2-334, Green Room. Toast to the triumphs of the spring semester with LGBTQ+ students at Lavender Graduation & Shindig - an evening of celebration, relaxation, and honoring success!
