My Academic Plan (MAP) is a prescriptive plan of courses created with an academic advisor, that assists students in meeting their academic goals. The MAP shows the requirements for the student's academic program in a personalized plan that takes into consideration the student's academic and non-academic life. The MAP also takes into account course prerequisites, course availability by term, and student placement levels.
To request a MAP, students meet with their assigned academic advisor. Once the MAP is created and approved by the advisor and the student, it will be made active. Students can access their MAPs electronically in a number of ways:
A student with an active MAP will have the benefit of an easier time scheduling each term. After logging into the registration portal via the my.sinclair.edu portal, students will be presented with the courses that they and their advisors agreed were best for that term. This eliminates the need to search through the entire Sinclair catalog for their courses. In order to stay On Plan, students should register for the courses on their MAP for the given term.
If students wishes to change or deviate from their active MAPs, students should meet with their advisor to ensure they are not creating a situation that could impede their progress and delay graduation.
