Legal Studies Admission Requirements
New and current Sinclair students
- Successful scores on the Assessment Placement Tests
- Placement test scores indicate you can enroll in ENG 1101, MAT 1120 and not need a development reading course; or
- Have successfully completed DEV 0012, DEV 0025 or DEV 0075, and DEV 0032.
- Minimum of 2.0 grade point average (GPA)
Transfer students
- Transferable credit in college level mathematics and English courses
- Minimum of 2.0 grade point average (GPA)
- To accept paralegal/legal studies classes from other colleges, the Legal Studies Department Chair must pre-approve the transfer. A working syllabus for the course, including student assignments, must be provided. Only 10 credit hours of Legal Studies courses from another Legal Studies program may transfer.
Legal Studies Grade Requirements
Students must maintain a 2.0 or higher, cumulative grade point average (GPA) for the duration of their time in the program. A grade of "C" or higher is required to receive credit in each Paralegal course.
Completion of the Legal Studies Program does not authorize a graduate to practice law as an attorney.
