YOUNG WRITERS' WORKSHOP

This virtual workshop is FREE and open to registrants’ grades 6-12. The workshop is also open to adult fiction writers or literature teachers.

1 PM -3:30 PM

Introduction and Keynote from Estella González
Working breakouts with grade-level peers and a Sinclair faculty member. González will lead a breakout with adult attendees about writing her novel, Huizache Women (Arte Público Press 2023)
The workshop will conclude with an open mic for students to share breakout writing

FEATURING ESTELLA GONZALEZ

Estella González is the author of the award-winning short story collection, Chola Salvation (Arte Público Press 2021) and the forthcoming novel, Huizache Women (Arte Público Press 2023). Her stories and poetry have been published in many journals and anthologies. She’s garnered numerous distinctions and awards. Estella is a first-generation Chicana born and raised in East Los Angeles. She received her BA in English from Northwestern University and her MFA in fiction from Cornell University.
