Intersectionality Scholarships

  • APIQWTC Scholarship
    • The APIQWTC Scholarship was founded to uplift current (or future) API queer and trans community leaders.
    • Criteria
      • Asian/Pacific Islander lesbian, bisexual, or queer women or transgender individuals pursuing technical, professional, or trades certification or other tuition-based learning.
      • Current and prospective students in U.S.-based non-profit certificate or degree programs, including high school seniors entering programs in Summer 2024 or Fall 2024
      • have not received the APIQWTC Scholarship in the past five years
      • demonstrate professional commitment as well as community involvement.
    • $3,500 to three recipients
    • Deadline: February 14, 2024
       
  • APIQWTC Terri Higa Memorial Scholarship
    • Criteria
      • Asian Pacific Islander lesbian, bisexual, or queer woman or non-binary or transgender individual
      • pursuing an Associates of Science (AS) or Associate of Arts (AA) degree in a technical or trade career.
    • $2,500
    • Deadline: February 14, 2024
       
  • Better Brothers LA Scholarship
    • Better Brothers LA assists Black LGBTQ+ youth with the cost of college and all its expenses. Scholarship funds are awarded to assist with tuition, purchasing textbooks, and other academic related costs
    • Criteria
      • open to Black LGBTQ+ youth across the country.
      • admitted to or are attending an accredited degree, licensing, or vocational program.
    • $500-$5,000
    • scholarships will be awarded at the 10th Annual Truth Awards on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
    • Deadline: Friday, January 12, 2024, 8:00pm PST.
       
  • Prism Foundation Scholarship
    • The purpose of the Prism Foundation Scholarship is to celebrate and reward outstanding scholar activists who are making a positive impact on the API and LGBTQIA+ communities.
    • Criteria
      • attending a post-secondary institution (attend community college, university, and trade/vocational school) in the United States in the upcoming academic year (starting in the Fall of this current year)
      • have a strong history of engagement within the API and/or LGBTQIA+ communities.
         
  • Queer Youth of Faith National Essay Contest by Beloved Arise
    • Beloved Arise, a national organization dedicated to celebrating and empowering LGBTQIA+ youth of faith, is holding an Essay Contest.
    • Criteria
      • Open to high school seniors residing in the United States
      • Create a platform for LGBTQ+ youth of any faith, religion, or spiritual community to share their stories through an essay
    • $10,000
    • Deadline: February 1, 2024
       
  • SOULE Foundation
    • LGBTQ youth and young adults of color are eligible to be considered for a SOULE Foundation scholarship if they meet the following criteria:
      • Have attained a cumulative high school or college GPA of at least 2.5
      • Have a high school diploma or GED
      • Are enrolled at a U.S. located, accredited college or university as a full-time student.
      • Have submitted FAFSA by the deadline
      • Meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria
      • Must be available for photo/video shoot to receive the award and attend the Soule Foundation Gala
    • $5,000
