Disbursement of Financial Aid Funds

Aid awarded for a specific term can only be used to pay for charges for that term and will only be disbursed to you during that term.

Federal Aid Disbursement Timeline
  • Federal grants are applied directly to your student account to pay tuition, fees, and other charges 10 days before the start date of your first course.
  • Federal Direct Loan disbursement information can be found at Federal Direct Loan.
Scholarship Disbursement Timeline

As long as eligibility requirements are met, the latest date Institutional scholarships disburse to your student account is 10 days before the semester start date (not the start date of your first course). Many scholarships disburse the day after registration occurs, depending on the scholarship requirements.

Federal Work Study (FWS)

Students earn FWS funds by working in positions with eligible employers. Wages are typically paid bi-weekly through the employer's payroll system. For more information about the FWS program, see Federal Work Study.

Private Scholarships

If you have a private scholarship check and the sponsor or donor sends funds to Sinclair, the funds will be applied directly to your Sinclair account, one-half in the Fall Term and one-half in the Spring Term, unless otherwise specified by the scholarship sponsor.
