1998
  • Montgomery County voters approve a 2.5 mil replacement levy to support the college
  • Center for Interactive Learning and Automotive/ Environmental Technologies buildings open
1999  For the ninth time in ten years, Sinclair Board freezes tuition for Montgomery County residents
2000
  • Provost Steven Lee Johnson is appointed
  • The Learning Center opens at Miami Valley Research Park
2001
  • Sinclair named one of only 12 Vanguard Learning Colleges
  • Sinclair renames Building 20 the John E. Moore, Sr. Technology Center
  • Integrative Medical Massage Therapy program begins
2002
  • Sinclair celebrates 30th anniversary of modern day campus
  • Sinclair President Dr. Ned J. Sifferlen announces retirement
2003  Dr. Steven Lee Johnson appointed as Sinclair’s fifth president
2004  Dr. Stephen Jonas, Vice President for Administration, retires after 20 years of visionary leadership
2006  
2007 Sinclair opens The Courseview Campus Center in Mason
2008 Montgomery County voters affirmed support for the college by passing a 10-year levy, assuring its future
2012 The college switches from a quarter-based to semester-based academic calendar, beginning Fall 2012
2014 President and CEO Steven Johnson, and the Sinclair College Board of Trustees, were honored with the Exemplary CEO and Board Award of Excellence by the American Association of Community Colleges
2015 The Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Indoor flying pavilion opens as the nation's first permanent, custom-built flying facility for UAS training and applied research support in Building 18
2016 The UD Sinclair Academy, which allows students to begin studies at Sinclair and earn a bachelor's at the University of Dayton, celebrates its first graduating class
2019 Sinclair begins fall semester with two new workforce aligned bachelor degree programs in Aviation Technology and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)
2020
  • Sinclair ranks No. 4 Top Community College in Ohio by Schools.com
  • Sinclair switches most in-person classes to remote, and offers virtual learning and student relief funding during the global Coronavirus pandemic
