- Sinclair admitted to the League for Innovation in the Community College, and Montgomery County voters approve 2.5 mill levy to support the college
- Sinclair Center, Building 12, 200,000 square foot home of the Corporate & Community Services Division, opens

1992 |
- Sinclair and Wright State University are the recipients of a $2 million Kellogg Foundation grant to develop a model program to improve health care in underserved neighborhoods
- Sinclair, and a consortium of eight local colleges, high schools and business and industry representatives, receive a $525,000 Tech-Prep grant from the Ohio Department of Education

- Sinclair Center auditoriums are renamed in honor of Frederick C. Smith and Charity E. Earley, retired Sinclair Board members and officers
- Foundation's Trustees scholarship is renamed in honor of Virginia N. McNeal
- The trio provided nearly 50 combined years of leadership and service to the Board
- Sinclair enrolls a record high 20,948 students for Fall Quarter 1993
- Sinclair's FTE - Full Time Equivalent - enrollment figure is also a record
- Advanced Integrated Manufacturing (AIM) Center and Building 13 opens

- Sinclair and the UD receive $5-million grant from National Science Foundation to establish a National Center of Advanced Manufacturing Education at the AIM Center
- Sinclair Building 15, housing Sinclair Foundation and Alumni Association offices, opens

- Sinclair’s Distance Learning Program named one of nation’s 20 best
- Sinclair’s STEP II tooling and machining program begins 3rd shift training

- Sinclair Theatre's production of The Overcoat is recognized by the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival as one of the finest productions in competition with 44 other four-year theatre programs
- Sinclair sophomore accounting major Jane M. Leach is selected as a member of the All-USA Community and Junior College Academic First Team
- Sinclair is only college in the country to have students selected for first or second team honors in seven of the eight years of the competition
- Sinclair’s Automotive Technology Program is selected as the national winner of the 1996 American Vocational Association/American Automobile Manufacturers Association Industry Planning Council’s Award for Excellence in Automotive Service Programs
- Sinclair led Miami Valley Tech Prep Consortium wins two national awards from the U.S. Department of Education and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC)
