Computer Science

Computer Science is the study of how computers work in order to develop software applications, build websites, drive robots, or mine data. Students study computer programming languages, such as C++, Java, and Python, along with algorithms and data structures, to build systems that solve real-world problems.

Computer Science professionals are in high demand and well compensated across industries.  Sinclair students use state-of-the-art technology along with popular programming languages and software applications to build necessary skills to compete in today's job market.

Computer Science at Sinclair includes programs of study in Data Analytics, Web Development, and Software Development.

  • Web Development Associate of Applied Science:  For those who want to build software applications that run on the internet.
  • Fast Track Programming Certificate: A refresher on computer programming concepts, like languages, object-oriented programming, or database systems.
  • Web Programming Certificate:  For those with some computer programming skills who want to enhance their ability to create internet-based software solutions.

Computer Science Associate of Science

Computer science is broad academic discipline that studies the principles and foundations of computing technology.  The Computer Science Associate of Science might be for you if you plan to continue your studies at a four-year institution.

Interested in programming, but not sure if it's for you?

Our "Complex Concepts, Simply Put" series is a set of introductory tutorials that teaches entry-level programming concepts at a non-collegiate level. Watch on-demand on our YouTube Sinclair CIS channel to see if this area of study might be for you.

Concepts taught in the videos support our CIS 1111 Introduction to Problem Solving & Computer Programming.
