The faculty is committed to supporting registered nurses to provide evidence-based care and leadership reflective of social justice and health equity for individuals, families, and populations in a variety of settings.

Philosophy

Nursing is a practice discipline that requires the deliberate use of specialized techniques and a broad range of scientific knowledge to design, deliver, coordinate, and manage care for complex individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations (Billings & Halstead, 2020).

Nursing requires life-long learning to ensure nursing care reflects current knowledge, understanding, and application of the sciences to support the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of diverse individuals, groups, and communities.

Nurses enhancing their education through baccalaureate education are provided with tools to expand their skills and knowledge, enhance the use of evidence, and support engagement in collaboration and leadership, which ultimately results in improved patient outcomes.
