The department's mission statement is to provide each student with an appropriate combination of technical, business and general education courses to earn an associate degree in applied Science and become certified cooks, chefs, and foodservice management professionals, meeting and event planners, travel/tourism and hotel/lodging professionals. Instruction is based on the belief that learning is enhanced when the curriculum is structured in a competency-based format where student expectations are high, but clearly defined and achievable.
