BIO 2211 Human Physiology
Essentials of human physiology for students who have previous course work in human anatomy and physiology. Topics include biochemistry, cell physiology and physiology of the major organ systems. Three classroom, three lab hours per week.
Division: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
Department: Biology
Repeatable Credit: No
Offered Online: No
Prereqs: BIO 1107 OR BIO 1111 OR BIO 1141 OR CHE 1111 OR LPN Diploma
Outcomes
- Collect, analyze, and interpret physiological data obtained by manipulating the physiological parameters provided by computer simulations of physiological processes/mechanisms.
- Describe the physiological processes that each organ system contributes to body homeostasis; describe the interdependence of the organ systems of the body.
- Use correct scientific terminology when describing the physiological processes central to each organ system; describe the mechanisms, biochemical pathways, and homeostatic control systems for the principle physiological processes; relate physiological functions to prior knowledge of anatomical structure of the organ systems.
