A foundation for gaining knowledge about Chinese culture and basic phrases related to simple spoken Chinese, including travel situations.

Foundation for understanding, speaking, reading and writing Chinese. Work outside of class and/or in the language laboratory is required.

Develops the conversational skills to a greater degree of complexity and covering more situations. Promotes free expression in Chinese within more specific and complex cultural contents.

This intermediate Chinese class intends to help students reach a higher level of Chinese proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in the cultural context. While continuing to enhance speaking and listening skills, competency in contextual readings and character writing will be emphasized.

This course is to help students reach an intermediate level of Chinese proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in the cultural context. This course is designed to help students develop Chinese language competency in the business world. With immersion learning and integrated approach, students will learn oral and written business communications with real-world sceneries in cultural and global contexts.

CHN 2302 Business Chinese II

This course is designed to help students build upon their Chinese language skills to gain proficiency in Business communications in formal and professional settings. With integrated learning, students will be able to command immersion business dialogues and formal corporate apparatus like letters, reports, charts, and presentations in structured business environments. While focusing on the Chinese language that is used in the business world, this course will also highlight business related issues like economic climate, cultural differences that can hinder or strengthen business relations.
