Outcomes

  • Students will be able to perform a RAMP (Recognize Hazards, Assess Risk, Minimize, Prepare) risk assessment prior to the start of each laboratory session and share information with their classmates and instructor.
  • Students will be able to follow a written procedure, measure chemicals, make observations and measure data (including temperature, final mass, pH and absorbance).
  • Students will be able to perform basic chemistry calculations including converting mass to moles, stoichiometry, density, concentration, total dissolved solids and water hardness.
  • Students will be able to draw and interpret graphs, and interpret evidence.
  • Students will utilize the scientific method to explore hypothesis development, experimentation, data analysis and presentation of evidence-based results and conclusions.
