This course covers zoning, ductless, and variable refrigerant flow systems, troubleshooting accessories, commercial hydronic systems, steam systems, retail refrigeration systems, and customer relations. One classroom, two lab hours per week.

  • Troubleshoot various air treatment accessories used with heating and cooling equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair zoned, ductless, and variable refrigerant flow systems.
  • Identify and understand the function of various types and components of commercial hot water heating and chilled water cooling systems.
  • Explain various operational components of steam systems and the use of steam for storing and moving energy in HVAC systems.
  • Troubleshoot and understand the application and principles of retail refrigeration.
  • Demonstrate how to make a good first impression and communicate positively with customers.
