NSG 4104 Advanced Health Assessment & Health Promotion
This elective course focuses on the theory and practice of health assessment and health promotion across the life span. Assessment of all aspects of the patient's health status for purposes of health promotion, health protection, and disease prevention is explored. Incorporates concepts, theories, and research on human development and genetics, prevention of disease, early detection of risk factors and anticipatory guidance. This is a blended course with minimum class time 25 hours and minimum 45 hours of clinical/practicum.

Outcomes
- Apply problem-solving using a systematic approach to the collection, synthesis, and communication of relevant subjective data.
- Obtain a comprehensive history, review of systems, and physical exam. Conduct health promotion screening that relates to the client's age, developmental level, culture, and psychosocial status.
- Differentiate between normal and abnormal variants of historical review of systems, and physical findings based on lifespan changes and normal anatomy and physiology.
- Analyze findings for significant patterns that lead to risk factors that can lead to the development or identification of an altered health state or presence of disease.
