NSG 4120 RN to BSN Capstone

The capstone course promotes the application of knowledge acquired in the RN to BSN program with previous knowledge and clinical experiences to identify and implement a scholarly nursing project. The project must address the analysis of, and strategies to address, improvements in clinical or organizational practices. This is a blended course with minimum class time 25 hours and minimum 45 hours of clinical/practicum.

  • Collaborate with a clinical mentor to develop a capstone project to improve healthcare outcomes based on student interests and the organization's needs assessment.
  • Design a capstone project using systems thinking, best practice appraisal and cultural humility integration.
  • Manage the implementation and evaluation of a capstone project.
  • Create a professional capstone project presentation to disseminate results.
  • Design a professional ePortfolio that highlights the synthesis of work completed in the program illustrating the achievement of program outcomes.
