Outcomes
- Students will accurately perform and effectively interpret data collection activities utilized for ongoing assessment of a patient, in a manner that minimizes risk and maximizes comfort to patient, self, and others.
- Students will understand the principles of patient assessment and how to critically assess the validity and reliability of those tests chosen.
- Students will assess the appropriate timeframe in which to perform patient assessment techniques, monitor patient response to these interventions, and determine when modifications to techniques are necessary.
- Students will utilizes sound clinical reasoning, based on review of the patient's health records, including PT evaluation and plan of care, in determining appropriate tests and measures to be utilized to assess current status and progress toward therapy goals, and to appraise the results of these assessments and/or determine when an assessment needs to be modified.
